EUROPEAN ART ACADEMIES AS GUESTS IN GERMAN ART ORGANISATIONS
Institutional Critique as a Condition of Transformation of Artistic and Educatioal Situations in The European Context
From May 2006 to Fall 2007, thirteen art organisations will be presenting exhibitions, workshops and projects by young artists from twenty European art academies. Parallel to these there will be discussions, lectures and symposiums regarding the situation for the next generation of young artists in Europe. The central focus will be on their expectations, visions for the future, as well as opportunities. Therefore, the attention of the project will be on the educational situation. What perspectives are opened up by the various training models of the different academies? How are young artists being prepared for their entry onto art’s international playing field? Against a backdrop of reforms within European academies in the so-called Bologna-Process that seeks to achieve an international standard of quality assurance for courses of study, CROSSKICK seeks to question how the different concepts react to changing demands on artistic practice under the terms and conditions of globalisation. How will artistic competence be taught in the future? Which new artistic identities and working-models are being formulated? How will art manifest itself as a specific form of handling and recognizing in different fields of practice?
La critique institutionnelle comme condition de transformation des situations artistiques et éducatives dans le contexte européen
De mai 2006 à l’automne 2007, des représentants d’une vingtaine d’écoles d’art de l’Europe de l’Est et de l’Ouest seront les hôtes de treize Kunstverein. Ces treize institutions présenteront des projets de formats divers (colloques, conférences, expositions, rencontres, workshops, échanges…) réalisés par des étudiants.
Suite aux réformes de Bologne, Crosskick cherche à comprendre comment les étudiants réagissent aux modifications de leurs cursus et comment ces changements agissent sur la conception de la pratique artistique dans le contexte de la globalisation.
Quels seront les nouvelles identités artistiques et les nouveaux modèles de travail ?
Comment le travail artistique se manifestera-t-il et sous quelles formes ?
Quelles compétences savoirs et savoir-faire seront enseignées dans le futur ?
Crosskick a formé des équipes qui se passeront la balle à travers l’Europe afin d’initier des relations d’échange entre les écoles et les institutions d’art.
Crosskick a aussi pour objectif d’ouvrir à un public plus large le débat sur la question de l’éducation artistique.
* Crosskick est un terme utilisé en rugby, il signifie se passer la balle en traversant le terrain.

« … in view of the University of Lüneburg’s long-standing institution-critical tradition of teaching in the fields of fine arts and visual studies, it suggests itself for Halle für Kunst to newly put the concept of institutional criticism on the agenda and have it assessed by the next generations.
